The Federal Aviation Administration has contracted Lockheed Martin through 2010 to replace the entire data processing infrastructure of its 20 Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs) under a program known as En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM). System software updates in this program created the need to train several thousand air traffic controllers in new and changed ATC procedures. PDRI (PTI) is working with Lockheed to provide training services and other support to the FAA. PDRI has developed multiple CBT and ILT interventions for this program. A separate blended course has been developed for each of the air traffic control, AT management, and AT support disciplines:
Each CBT portion provides controller students with a high-fidelity simulation of their workstation environment and emphasizes interactive situational exercises over rote presentation. In addition, PDRI technical writers created the online and hardcopy user manuals for each position. PDRI also provided instructors for validation delivery of three of these courses, and will provide instructors for all iterations of the Scenario Generation course. The FAA modernization program is phased, and will require PDRI to provide periodic updates to all course materials through 2010. Return to Learning Solutions Sample Products |
